Still terms of use
Last updated: 9 October 2026
1. About these terms
- These terms are an agreement between you and The Good Phone Company Ltd (company number 16456112, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ) ("we", "us") for your use of the Still app ("Still").
- By downloading or using Still, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Still.
- Our privacy policy explains how we handle data.
- Contact: support@gethavenmobile.com for help with the app and refunds; legal@gethavenmobile.com for legal notices and privacy requests.
- Still is for adults aged 18 and over. Still isn't for anyone under 18.
- Where Still is available: the United Kingdom only.
2. Your licence to use Still
- We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Still on Android devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.
- Google Play's terms also apply to how you download and pay for Still.
- You may not copy, sell or redistribute Still, or reverse-engineer it or its blocking rules, except where the law allows you to.
- We (or our licensors) own Still and its content. These terms don't give you any other rights in it.
3. What Still does
- Still blocks Reels in the Instagram app and Shorts in the YouTube app on Android. When you open a Reels or Shorts screen, it presses Back for you or shows a full-screen "Blocked by Still" screen.
- Your messages, stories, posts, profiles and search stay as they are.
- Still is an independent app. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Instagram, Meta, YouTube or Google. Instagram is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.; YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC.
- Still isn't a medical or therapeutic product, and it isn't designed for controlling someone else's phone.
4. Free and Pro
| Free | Pro (subscription) | |
|---|---|---|
| Core blocking of Reels and Shorts inside Instagram and YouTube | ✓ | ✓ |
| Shared-video exception (a single video someone sends you plays) | ✓ | ✓ |
| Daily allowance | One daily allowance, in minutes | Separate allowances for each app |
| Stats | 7 days of stats | Longer stats history |
| Strict Mode (a delay before you can loosen your settings) | — | ✓ |
| Schedules and bedtime mode | — | ✓ |
We may improve or change features over time (see section 11). If we remove a Pro feature you're paying for, or change one so it's significantly worse, we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days in advance. You can then cancel and get a refund of the unused part of your current paid period.
5. Subscriptions through Google Play
- Buying: Pro is sold through Google Play's billing system. The price, billing period and any free trial are shown in the app and by Google Play before you confirm. Prices include any VAT that applies.
- Plans and auto-renewal: Pro is available monthly (£2.99/month) or yearly (£19.99/year). Pro renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Google Play charges the payment method linked to your Google account.
- Cancelling: you can cancel any time in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions (or at Google Play subscriptions), or from Still's Settings, which links there. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for. Uninstalling Still doesn't cancel your subscription.
- Refunds: you may be able to get a refund directly from Google Play under Google Play's refund policies. You can also contact us at support@gethavenmobile.com: we give a full refund on request within 14 days of your first payment or a yearly renewal (section 6), and otherwise handle requests in line with the law. Nothing here limits your legal rights (section 6).
- Price changes: if we raise the price for existing subscribers, we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before you're first charged the higher price, and Google Play will also notify you by email and notification. Usually you'll be asked to accept the new price; if you don't accept it, Google Play cancels your subscription at the renewal when the new price would have applied. In some places Google Play allows limited price increases without asking you to accept; you can still cancel before the new price applies. If we lower the price, you'll pay the lower price from your next payment after the change.
- Free trial on the yearly plan:
- The yearly plan comes with a 7-day free trial. The monthly plan has no free trial.
- Before you start, Google Play and the app show the trial length, the yearly price that applies after it, and the date you'll be charged.
- The trial converts to a paid yearly subscription automatically when it ends, unless you cancel in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions before the trial ends. If you cancel during the trial, you won't be charged.
- Google Play decides who is eligible for a free trial.
- When the trial turns into a paid yearly subscription, you can still change your mind: see the 14-day refund in section 6.
- Restoring Pro: Pro is tied to your Google Play purchase. Use "Restore purchases" in Still on a new phone with the same Google account.
- Renewal reminders: for the yearly plan, we'll remind you in the app before each renewal, with the date, the price and how to cancel.
- New UK subscription rules: new UK rules for subscriptions under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 are due to start in January 2027. They cover things like reminders, easy cancellation and cooling-off for subscriptions. We'll update these terms and the app before they start.
6. Your consumer rights (UK)
- Quality: under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it isn't, you may be entitled to a repair or replacement, or, if that isn't possible or doesn't fix things, a price reduction. If faulty digital content damages your device or other digital content, and we failed to use reasonable care and skill, we'll repair the damage or pay compensation.
- Changed your mind? 14-day refund: if you ask within 14 days of your first payment for Pro (including when a yearly free trial turns into a paid subscription), or within 14 days of a yearly renewal payment, we'll refund that payment in full. Email support@gethavenmobile.com from any address; we may ask for your Google Play order number. Your access to Pro ends when the refund is made. This is in addition to your legal rights.
- You can always cancel future renewals (section 5).
- Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
- For more information, contact Citizens Advice.
7. Blocking isn't guaranteed
Still relies on how Instagram and YouTube display their screens. When those apps change, blocking may miss some Reels or Shorts, or occasionally block something it shouldn't, until we update our rules.
- We update blocking rules regularly, often without an app update, and we use anonymous diagnostics from people who choose to turn on "Help improve blocking" to find problems quickly.
- We can't promise Still will block every Reel or Short, work on every device or Android version, or keep working if Instagram, YouTube, Google or Android change in ways we can't support.
- Strict Mode doesn't stop you turning off Still's Accessibility Service in Android settings or uninstalling Still. It only delays loosening Still's own settings.
- If something isn't working, tell us at support@gethavenmobile.com or use "A Reel/Short got through" in the app.
This section doesn't reduce your legal rights. If Pro isn't of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose or as described, you're entitled to a repair or replacement, or, if that doesn't fix things, a price reduction or refund (section 6).
8. Accessibility Service
- Still needs Android's Accessibility Service to block inside Instagram and YouTube. It explains this on a separate screen and asks you to agree before you turn it on.
- It runs only in Instagram and YouTube. It reads their screens on your phone to detect Reels and Shorts, and doesn't save or send your messages or what you watch.
- It only presses Back or shows the "Blocked by Still" screen. It doesn't tap, type, post, like, follow, send messages or change settings in those apps.
- You can turn it off at any time in Android Settings › Accessibility. Without it, Still can't block inside other apps.
- Details are in the privacy policy.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Still on a device you don't own or control, or to monitor or restrict another person without their knowledge and permission
- copy, modify, reverse-engineer or redistribute Still or its blocking rules, except as the law allows
- interfere with, overload or attack our servers (including the rules and diagnostics endpoints), or send them false data
- use Still in breach of the law, or of Instagram's, YouTube's or Google Play's terms
10. Other services
Instagram, YouTube, Google Play and Android are provided by third parties under their own terms. We don't control them and aren't responsible for them. Still's in-app browser mode opens instagram.com and m.youtube.com, and those sites' own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.
11. Changes to Still and these terms
- We may update Still and its blocking rules to fix problems, keep up with Instagram and YouTube, or improve features. Rule updates can happen without an app update.
- We may update these terms. We'll change the "Last updated" date and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they take effect.
- For a change that's worse for you, we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel Pro and get a refund of the unused part of your current paid period.
12. Our liability to you
- We don't exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for breach of your statutory consumer rights.
- We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that's a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss or damage that isn't foreseeable.
- Still is for personal use. We aren't liable for business losses (for example lost profit or business interruption).
- We don't cap our liability to you at a fixed amount.
13. Ending these terms
- You can stop using Still at any time by uninstalling it. Cancel Pro separately in Google Play (section 5).
- We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to for legal reasons.
- If we stop offering Still or Pro, we'll give you reasonable notice. If we end a paid Pro period early through no fault of yours, we'll refund the unused part.
- Sections that by their nature should continue (for example section 12) survive.
14. Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you keep the protection of the law where you live and can also bring proceedings there.
